FINALLY: Suspected Terrorist Who Abandoned Bomb in Kireka Arrested

Uganda Police Force (UPF) says it has finally arrested a suspected terrorist who had survived being apprehended during an operation in Kireka Bbira.

The suspect, identified as Yusuf Muwonge, had landed his landlord into trouble after escaping during a raid by a counter-terror team.

Now, according to UPF political commissar Asan Kasingye, Muwonge has been arrested.

The suspect is believed to be closely linked to recent bomb explosions in Kampala, including an attack at a hangout in Komamboga, Kampala, and an explosion on an Ishaka-bound Swift Safaris bus.

“Muwonge Yusuf, a suspected close associate of Matovu Muzafaru of the bus terror incident in Mpigi, and who on Thursday abandoned a bomb in Kireka Bira after hot pursuit by security operatives and intel team has finally been arrested,” said Kasingye.
