Social media site Facebook has deleted a post in which Dr Stella Nyanzi shared a Daily Monitor cartoon portraying Bobi Wine as holy and untouchable.
Facebook deleted Nyanzi’s post hours after it warned it would restrict her account if she continued attacking Bobi Wine.
Bobi Wine, real name Robert Kyagulanyi, is the National Unity Platform (NUP) president.
He lost the 2021 presidential election to incumbent President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni.
His supporters have exhibited intolerance to those criticizing the singer-turned-politician.
And Facebook, increasingly taking sides with Bobi Wine, has fuelled the intolerance.
Nyanzi has in recent days called out Bobi Wine, noting he is a worse dictator than Museveni.
She accuses Bobi Wine, his supporters and tech giant Facebook of gagging, and suffocating freedom of expression.
Facebook moved to delete Nyanzi’s post, in which she praises poets and cartoonists for their boldness.
