The National Organising Committee (NOC) for the funeral of the former Museveni press secretary has announced that their decision to halt most preparations for his burial until November.

The decision was reached on Monday, September 30, 2024 in a meeting held in the cabinet library. In attendance were representatives from Onapito Ekomoloit’s family and Parliament.

After the meeting, Presidency Minister Milly Babirye Babalanda announced that the decision was informed by the need to respect Onapito Ekomoloit’s will and wishes.

“Therefore, Hon. Onapito will be buried in late November (this year) according to his wishes as contained in the will. N.O.C, the family and Parliament will give an update on final arrangements early in November. We continue to pray for the bereaved to find strength in this trying time.”
