The International Criminal Court (ICC) Trial chamber IX has handed a 25-year sentence to former Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) commander Dominic Ongwen.
The jail term of 25 years is a joint sentence for the 61 war crimes and crimes against humanity he was convicted of months ago.
Ongwen committed the crimes in northern Uganda.
At the start of February 2021, the ICC delivered a ‘guilty’ verdict for Ongwen.
