Aspiring candidates in Mbarara have asked electorates to vote for political parties as opposed to independent candidates.
The NRM flag bearer Kashari north Mbarara district Basil Batariganya says standing as an independent is a political right but such a person should not have participated in party primary elections.
Bataringaya while addressing the media on Saturday contended that any person who was defeated in any party elections and stand as an independent should not be treated as a member of that particular party.
‘’Am calling upon the electorates to vote for leaders who belong to any political party in Uganda because we are in mult-system of governance’’ Bataringaya said
Kiconco Bonniee Kashaija the aspiring candidate for Mbarara City Woman MP on NRM ticket said this is the time for people to support their different parties and once they vote for the independents will be betraying their parties.
However, people are accusing NRM leaders of failing to organize free and fair elections that has since increased the number of independents in different political positions in the country.
