Ugandan singer Edirisa Musuuza aka Eddy Kenzo has won the East Africa’s Best Male Artiste of the year accolade at the 2021 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).
Eddy Kenzo, also the first East African BET Award Winner, was declared the region’s best male singer at an awards ceremony held in Lagos, Nigeria.
An overjoyed Kenzo took to his social media accounts where he shared a video of the AFRIMA organizers declaring him EA’s best.
Eddy Kenzo beats several top East African music stars such as Tanzania’s Diamond Platnumz, Harmonize and Ali Kiba, Rwanda’s Meddy and The Ben, Khaligraph Jones, and Kenya’s Otile Brown and Ethiopia’s Gildo Kassa to bag the award.
He also saluted Ugandan singers B2C and Spice Diana who had been nominated in the same awards.
Established by the International Committee in collaboration with the African Union to reward and celebrate musical works, talents, and creativity around the African continent while promoting the African cultural heritage, All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) is an annual awards event.
