There was drama at Entebbe International Airport as detectives from police whisked away weightlifter Julius Ssekitoleko to CID Headquarters in Kibuli for interrogation, leaving his mother Juliet Nalwadda in tears.
Ssekitoleko arrived at Entebbe International Airport July 23 morning.

But the athlete was rushed to CID Kibuli for questioning.
His mother Julius Ssekitoleko’s mother Nalwadda shed tears.
She insisted her son was innocent and should be set free.
Nalwadda cried before Commissioner for Physical Education and Sports, Duncans Mugumya.
Even Ssekitoleko’s pregnant wife Desire Nampewo had come to welcome her man.
Hours later, CID spokesperson Charles Mansio Twiine confirmed Ssekitoleko’s interrogation.
“Detectives at CID headquarters are interrogating Athlete Julius Ssekitoleko following his organized departure from Japan to Uganda,” Twiine said.
“Consultations to be made with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to establish whether there is any crime (s) committed by him.”
