Assessment body Uganda National Examination Board (Uneb) has explained why the program for the release of PLE, UCE and UACE results has beeb postponed.
A total of 1,181,965 candidates who sat their 2020 final examinations this year, months after the normal October-Decwmber period due to Covid19 interruptions, have been awaiting the release of the results.
Last week, Uneb spokesperson Jennifer Kalule said the release of the results was expected soon.
Uneb reveals when it will release PLE, UCE results
Uneb had planned to release PLE results by the end of this week or some time next week before the end of June 2021.
UCE, UACE results would then follow weeks apart.
But Kalule has been quoted by local news agency URN as admitting the PLE, UCE and UACE release program would be postponed over new Covid19 lockdown measures.
Total lockdown starts: Here’s how to avoid getting in trouble with Museveni’s enforcement teams
The Uneb publicist says lockdown orders necessitated the closure of the assessment body’s offices yet staff must be physically present to handle some of the work undertaken in the processing of the results.
The other issue Kalule blamed for the delay of the release of the results was the fact that education ministers had not taken oath of office.
Majority of the new ministers of Museveni’s cabinet swore in June 21 at the Kololo Independence Grounds.
Kalule was optimistic the release of the results and the selection exercise would be completed before September 20 when the 2021 academic year is expected to start.
