Prime Minister designate Robinah Nabbanja has fired at ‘haters’ punching holes in her capabilities, including FDC spokesperson Ibrahim Ssemujju Nganda who said she can’t even become a CEO of a garbage-collecting company.
On June 08, President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni shocked many when he named Nabbanja, the Kakumiro District Woman MP, his Prime Minister.
Naysayers such as Ssemujju and Kampala Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago quickly doubted her competence at executing duties in this top position.
Nabbanja is unfit to even become CEO of a garbage collecting company, says Ssemujju Nganda
But in a Friday morning NTV Uganda profile interview, Nabbanja told her ‘haters’ to watch the space and see her surprise them with her capabilities.
“After all the work I have done as an RDC, MP and Minister, how can someone say I can’t be a CEO of any company,” said Nabbanja.
“People should remember all leadership comes from God. I am a woman of action. Those who are undermine my appointment are looking at me as a woman. But I will surprise them.”
She added that there was structures and enabling instruments to help her execute her duties.
“People might be undermining me because of my poor background. But we have the Technical arm of government that is already in place, we have the Budget, we have the NRM manifesto and development plans to look at.”
Prime Minister Nabbanja insisted she had neither applied nor lobbied for any government job, clearly attributing her rise to God and her hard work.
And even when she admits her elevation was shocking to her, she says she is ready to prove naysayers wrong.
“I have never applied for any of the positions Deputy RDC, RDC or Prime Minister. It is one of those things that God does. When I first heard about my appointment, I thought it was a rumour going around on WhatsApp. Later when I watched the news, I saw the appointment. I called a Catholic priest to pray for me.”
