Covid19 kills Kira Road DPC

Mathias Turyasingura, the Kira Road District Police Commander (DPC), has died of Covid19.

Doctors at the Mulago National Referral Hospital pronounced DPC Turyasingura dead late May 25.

The police officer had been admitted in Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for days.

Uganda’s health ministry has warned more cases and deaths could be registered if people don’t take Covid19 prevention guidelines seriously.

Health officials are also warning that the Indian strain of the coronavirus could cause more fatalities, across age groups, in the second wave of Covid19.

Uganda has registered over 350 deaths while the cumulative number of cases stands at 44,000 since March 2020.
