The High court in Mbarara has thrown out an application filed by state Minister for economic monitoring Molly Kamukama an injunction to stop the nomination of Jennifer Muheesi Kazo district NRM Woman MP flag bearer.
Kamukama claimed that nominating Muheesi by the national electoral commission would be derogatory and would make the commission loss a lot of money
Where as Muheesi through her lawyer Mark Mugisha opposed the injunction on grounds that if granted NRM party will go into general elections without a candidate yet the application had been overtaken by events.
Mbarara high court Deputy Registrar Mr Samuel Twakyire gave Muheesi a green light to go for nominations that will kick off on Thursday
After the ruling Muheesi said this is a landmark victory and called upon her supporters to continue supporting her in the general election.
