Police has confirmed the death of two people following an explosion on a Swift Safaris bus October 25 evening.
Uganda Police Force (UPF) spokesperson Fred Enanga said two people had been killed in the blast on the bus that was travelling from Kampala to Ishaka-Bushenyi Municipality.
“A team of bomb experts has been dispatched to Lungala, along the Kampala-Masaka highway, after a deadly explosion occurred on a bus belonging to Swift Safaris Bus company under registration number UAU 989T, at around 5pm,” said Enanga.
“The scene has been cordoned off pending a thorough assessment and investigation by the bomb experts. So far two people have been confirmed dead and several other victims including injured persons being evacuated from the scene.”
This is the second explosion in three days.
