President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni will deliver his Covid19 address tomorrow almost two months since he extended the lockdown for sectors like education and eased the same for others such as businesses.
Senior presidential press secretary Lindah Nabusayi has said the address will happen in the evening.
As usual, all radio and television stations will broadcast the address.
“President Museveni will address the Nation on Covid19 situation and related issues on Wednesday September 22, 2021 at 8pm. The address will be live on all Television and Radio Stations,” confirmed press secretary Lindah Wamboka Nabusayi.
Since Museveni last addressed the nation, the second wave of Covid19 pandemic has subsided, with daily cases dropping significantly.
Results from tests done on September 18, 2021 confirmed 65 new cases, bring the cumulative number of confirmed cases to 122,277.
On the same day, one death was recorded, bringing the total number fatalities to 3,129 since March 2020.
But there is worry many cases may be going unreported in the national database.
The issue of school reopening is expected to prominently feature in the president’s address.
Museveni is also likely to give an update on security, weeks since at least 30 people were killed by Bijambiya gangs in Greater Masaka Area.
