Last Friday, Chris Obore, the director of communication and public affairs at parliament, complained that the money was yet to be released to parliament.

As we reported recently, Speaker Anita Among used her money to facilitate the return of Oulanyah’s body to Uganda, and to buy mourning clothes for family members. (Read Story Here).

Now, Obore has confirmed that the money meant to facilitate the funeral of Oulanyah was sent to Parliament’s account April 04 evening.

“I can now confirm that Finance Ministry has released shs1.2bn to Parliamentary Commission for burial arrangements of late Speaker Jacob Oulanyah,” said Obore.

“The Commission will work with NOC [National Organizing Committtee] to ensure decent sendoff.”
