Confession: Man says he was paid to attack Katikkiro Mayiga

Buganda Kingdom prime minister Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga’s personal assistant Denis Jjuuko says a man has confessed to him how he and others were paid to attack and tarnish the premier’s name on social media.

In recent years, Katikkiro Mayiga has faced the wrath of some Buganda royalists over the administration of the kingdom, and his alleged close ties with the central government.

This week, he faced criticism after Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi II appeared for his 66th birthday celebration sick and frail.

Some anti-Mayiga groups also accused the Katikkiro of failing to ensure better treatment for the king.

Others also claimed the Kabaka had been poisoned.

According to Jjuuko, a social media influencer paid to attack the Katikkiro has begged him for help and forgiveness after his ‘bosses’ refused to pay him.

The katikkiro’s PA shared screenshots of what he claimed was a chat between him and a disgruntled influencer that has confessed to being paid to attack Mayiga.
