President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has sent Shs70m as condolence money to the family of the late speaker Jacob L’Okori Oulanyah, with specific orders that the cash be given to the deceased politician’s father and his children.
Museveni was not present at the burial because he was attending an event in Nairobi, Kenya, where DR Congo was officially welcomed into the East African Community (EAC).
His remarks were delivered by Vice President Jessica Alupo.
VP Alupo also presented two envelopes to Nathan Okori, Oulanyah’s father.
She explained that one envelope contained Shs50m and was meant for Mzee Okori while the other, which had Shs20m, was for Oulanyah’s children.
Earlier, Oulanyah’s father insisted that his son was poisoned. (Read Story Here).
A whirlwind also blew a tent in which the casket was, leaving some claiming that it was Oulanyah’s spirit. (Read Story Here).
