Concerns about Kabaka’s health condition, whereabouts: Katikkiro Mayiga speaks out

Buganda Kingdom prime minister Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga has assured Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi’s subject the king is healthy and will speak to his people at his appointed time.

Kabaka Mutebi’s absence at key public events has fanned rumors of the king’s health.

When the Kabaka missed the Masaza Cup final weeks ago, Katikkiro Mayiga told Buganda subjects the king was in Kenya to meet the partners of the monarchy.

But weeks later, some subjects have continued to demand that the Kabaka appears in public or addresses his subjects about his health.

A one Mwoyo gwa Gwanga tasked Katikkiro Mayiga to explain the king’s whereabouts.

“Where’s the king? Stop fooling us,” Mwoyo gwa Gwanga asked via social media site Twitter.

In response, Mayiga said: “You will see him when he chooses to appear before his subjects in public.”

Last year, reports claiming the Kabaka was dead spread online.
