Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny-Dollo has shot down an attempt by Butambala County MP Muwanga Kivumbi to compel the head of the judiciary to respond to reports of ‘Baganda Vs Acholi’ comments.

In his remarks at a vigil held at Oulanyah’s home, Chief Justice Alfonse Owiny-Dollo has asked Baganda and NUP supporters why they didn’t hold protests when the Kabaka was rushed to Germany for treatment using tax payers’ money. (Read Story Here).
In response, NUP leader Bobi Wine told Owiny-Dollo not to divert Ugandans from asking what really killed Speaker Jacob Oulanyah. (Read Story Here).
During an event to elect Oulanyah’s replacement at Kololo Independence Grounds in Kampala, Kivumbi rose to pin presiding officer Owiny-Dollo over the comments.
But Owiny-Dollo refused to be dragged into debate on his comments, asking the NUP MP if he was the MP for a county called Buganda.
Kivumbi is the chairperson of the Buganda Parliamentary Caucus.
The chief justice then ordered Kivumbi to return to his seat so that the House could stick to the business of electing a new speaker.
