Busoga Kyabazinga Set to Fall in Things after Meeting Museveni at State House

The kingdom of Busoga and its Kyabazinga His Royal Highness William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV could soon fall in things after the king met Gen Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni, the President of the Republic of Uganda, at State House in Entebbe.

On Wednesday, Gen Museveni and Kyabazinga Nadiope IV met and held discussions on “matters of mutual interest,” according to the head of state and government. State House said the issues concerned the development of Busoga.

It is also said that the president and king also discussed the issue of the properties that belong to the Obwa kyabazinga bwa Busoga but are still under the possession of the Central Government.

At the end of the meeting, Gen Museveni directed the Attorney General, Kiryowa Kiwanuka, to work with the Minister for Presidency, Milly Babirye Babalanda and the kingdom officials to draft a document on specific matters related to the Kingdom of Busoga.

Other reports claimed that Minister Babalanda and AG Kiwanuka have been asked to verify the list of properties, the basis of which the head of state will draft a white paper which will be discussed by the Cabinet. The process might see Busoga get billions in compensation for its possessions in the hands of government as well as a number development programs to drive the poverty-stricken sub-region out of poverty.

It was not clear if the president discussed the issue of political wrangles in the kingdom of Busoga. It should be remembered that Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV was months ago fired from his throne as the Kyabazinga of Busoga but a court ruling later allowed the king to breathe a sigh of relief.
