Burial Program for Former Obote Minister Yona Kanyomozi Released

The family of the late Yona (Yonasani) Kanyomozi has released the burial program for the former minister of cooperatives and marketing in the Milton Obote government. 

Key items on the provisional funeral program are: the official vigil, the funeral service and the burial ceremony.

The body of Kanyomozi, who passed on at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala on Sunday, August 28, will be taken to his home in Mbuya, Kampala for the official vigil on Tuesday, August 30.

This will be followed by a funeral service for the former representative of the people of Kajara County and Bushenyi South.

The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at All Saints Cathedral Nakasero in Kampala.

Kanyomozi’s body will then be driven to his upcountry home in Rwashamaire, Ntungamo District.

A vigil will be held in Rwashamaire, Ntungamo on Thursday, September 01, 2022, starting at 2pm.

The former Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) party staunch supporter and promoter in the Greater Ankole region will then be laid to rest on Friday, September 02, at his home in Rwashamaire, with the funeral service expected to begin at 10am.
