Brig Gen Flavia Byekwaso has officially handed over the office of Defence and UPDF spokesperson to her deputy Lt Col Ronald Kakurungu.
For a full year, Lt Col Kakurungu will serve as acting Defence and UPDF spokesperson in acting capacity.
“I hand over office as I prepare to attend National Defence College. The function was presided over by UPDF Joint Chief of Staff Maj Gen Leopold Kyanda,” said Byekwaso.
“I wish Lt Col Kakurungu the very best of luck.”
In August 2020, Byekwaso, then a UPDF MP, was appointed to replace Brig Richard Karemire as Defence Spokesperson.
