President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni, the commander in chief of the armed forces, has appointed Maj Gen Geoffrey Katsigazi Tumusiime as the new deputy IGP.
Maj Gen Katsigazi Tumusiime will replace Lt Gen Paul Lokech, who died months ago.
Tumusiime’s appointment was confirmed by deputy press secretary Faruk Kirunda.
Kirunda also revealed that Museveni had renewed the contract of Dr Johnson Byabashaija as Uganda Prisons Service Commissioner General.
