First Son Muhoozi Kainerugaba

Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba

Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, son to President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni, has pushed his retirement from the army to 2030.

As we reported a few hours ago, Lt Gen Kainerugaba, also the Commander Land Forces (CLF), announced he was retiring from the army. (Read Story Here).

Government chief whip Thomas Tayebwa quickly hinted on a new journey for Kainerugaba. (Read Story Here).

But in a new twist — or rather a clarification of his earlier announcement — Kainerugaba has said he will retire in eight years’ time.

That means he will retire in 2030.

In a video in which the first son appears with veteran journalist Andrew Mwenda, he makes it clear he is not retiring any time soon.

— Andrew M. Mwenda (@AndrewMwenda) March 8, 2022

It should be remembered that Mwenda has previously endorsed Kainerugaba. (Read Story Here).
