President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni has relieved Brig Gen Flavia Byekwaso of her duties as the spokesperson of the UPDF and Ministry of Defence, reappointing Brig Gen Felix Kulaigye to the position.
Currently on a course at the National Defence College in Jinja, Brig Gen Byekwaso recently handed over office to her deputy Maj Ronald Kakurungu.
Maj Kakurungu confirmed the firing of Byekwaso and the reappointment of Kulaigye.
Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye has been appointed Defence Spokesperson, replacing Brig Gen Flavia Byekwaso currently attending National Defence College Uganda. We welcome back Gen Kulayigye to the Office of Defence Spokesperson.
Museveni has in recent days been firing top security officers.
