Popular Ugandan blogger Ibrahim Tusubilwa, also known as Isma Olaxes aka Jajja Ichuli has been shot dead in Kyanja Central Zone in the capital Kampala, Uganda Police Force (UPF) has confirmed.

The shooting incident, which happened in the Kira Road Police Territory, took place at about 09:20pm on Saturday, May 06, 2023. Isma Olaxes Jajja Ichuli was with driver when the shooting happened.

“It is with deep regret that we report the unfortunate demise of Tusubilwa Ibrahim, also known as Isma Olaxes, popularly known as Jaja Ichili,” confirmed Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Spokesperson of Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP).

“The incident took place while Mr. Tusubilwa Ibrahim was traveling in his motor vehicle, registered under number UBK 213 D, with his driver, Mr. Waswa Mathias.”

Owoyesigyire further revealed that an SMG was used in the shooting. Investigations into the motive of the murder as well as the person behind it are ongoing.

“Preliminary reports indicate that an unidentified gunman armed with an SMG opened fire on the vehicle, resulting in the fatal shooting of Tusubilwa Ibrahim, who was seated in the passenger seat at the time of the attack,” continued the deputy publicist.

“Our dedicated task teams are currently on the ground, working diligently to gather all available evidence and conduct thorough investigations into this heinous crime.”

Police moved in to cordon off the scene of crime to gather key evidence of the nature of the shooting. Owoyesigyire assured Ugandans that the killer would be caught and dealt with in accordance with the laws of Uganda.

“As a precautionary measure, the area has been cordoned off to ensure the safety of the public and to facilitate the ongoing investigation process,” he wrote.

“We assure the public that every effort is being made to bring the perpetrators to justice and provide answers to this senseless act of violence. We understand the concerns and anxieties arising from this incident . We urge residents to remain calm and cooperate with the authorities as we work towards resolving this case swiftly.”

This is the second shooting in Kyanja in just one week, the first one being that in which a Museveni minister was shot dead by his bodyguard, throwing the nation into shock. (See Details Here).

More details would later emerge on the bodyguard who shot the minister dead. It also emerged that some of the killed Minister’s bodyguards had been sent abroad weeks before the shooting happened. (Read Story Here).
