Bobi Wine’s wife Barbie Itungo flies to US

Barbie Itungo, wife to National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, has flown out of Uganda to the US.

Barbie flew aboard Qatar Airways, donning a jumper, a cap and a face mask.

She was expected to connect from Doha to the US.

Bobi Wine sent his children to stay with Barbie’s sister in Texas just days to the January 14 presidential election.

The singer-turned-politician lost the election to incumbent President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni.

Although he claims — without much evidence — that he was rigged, Bobi Wine has been unclear on his next course of action, save for a Supreme Court petition.

But security agencies say Bobi Wine plans protests he hopes will culminate in an uprising to topple Museveni.

It was not readily clear if Barbie’s flight was related to rumored protests but Bobi Wine has previously claimed his family members’ lives were in danger.
