Bobi Wine’s NUP Sends Clear Message to Museveni as Eye Witness Links People Power to Komamboga Bomb Blast

Singer-turned-politician Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine’s main opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) has spoken out on claims by an eye witness that the three men behind the Komamboga bomb blast could be members of People Power pressure group.

On October 23 night, at least one person was confirmed dead in a bomb blast at Digida Eating Point in Komamboga.

One of the eye witnesses, a staff at Digida, was quoted as saying one of the bombers donned a People Power t-shirt.

The witness further claimed this was not the first time the suspected bomber had come to this eatery and bar.

This account quickly linked Bobi Wine’s NUP and People Power to the Komamboga bomb blast.

Now, NUP, which is the political wing of the People Power pressure group, has said the regime’s attempts to place it at the scenes of terror attacks will fail flat.

“As predicted, the Museveni regime is actualising their plan of implicating NUP and People Power in terrorism acts,” said the political party in a statement.

“They will do anything possible and go to any extent to achieve their absurd objectives. Without contradiction, this new attempt will fail, like all those before.”

Bobi Wine, People Power and NUP have previously been linked to criminal activities, including a spate of petro bomb attacks in Kampala.

The party’s MPs Allan Ssewanyana of Makindye West and Muhammad Ssegirinya of Kawempe North are currently on remand over a raft of charges, including murder related to a recent spate of killings in Greater Masaka.
