”People of Sheema you know it and am not saying it in bad faith ,the one who stole from Uganda Revenue Authority and was chased. But after being Chased, president Museveni advised him to come into politics to steal more money in parliament. is that what you want?” said Bobi Wine

Bobi Wine said the NRM government is found of letting government money get swindled by people well known but nothing is done.

In NRM government some one steals in a specific ministry and then they are only transferred from a different ministry to another. That now you have stolen from this ministry also come and steal from this ministry. You can see Mike Mukula and Jim Muhwezi, they all swindled money for HIV patients but they are walking freely.” said Bobi Wine

On 30th May 2020, Dickson Kateshumbwa the then commissioner Customs at Uganda Revenue Authority resigned his position calling to an end to his 14 years career with the tax collecting body in Uganda.

“I have been privileged to serve in Customs, Tax Investigations and Domestic Taxes in addition to holding the World Customs Organisation Chairmanship, Chairman Board of Trustees URA Staff Retirements Benefits Scheme, among others,” Kateshumbwa said in an e-mail he wrote to URA in May

His resignation came at a time where President Museveni had appointed new leadership at URA after firing former Commissioner General Doris Akol replaced by John Musinguzi, an intelligence officer, into the role in March.
