The National Unity Platform (NUP) president, also Kyadondo East MP, Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has today released a video, showing his entitlement as the president of the party.
This has come after Moses Kibalama came out in a video, saying that NUP leadership failed to pay him the agreed $5 M during the takeover of the party.
They [Bobi Wine and People Power] had promised that when their sponsors finally bring in the money, I don’t know from whatever sources, these people would be able to give us five million dollars,” Kibalama said.
But after waiting for the billions in vain, Kibalama’s group was disappointed and later thought it wise to end the political bonds.
Kibalama also claimed that Bobi Wine had illegally hijacked their party and control after he forged their signatures.
In a released statement, Bobi Wine said that owning the party was legally done and he even took an oath as the party president.
He continued and said that all these are happening because President Museveni is trying to do everything possible that stop Bobi Wine from appearing on the ballot paper.
“This was the 14th of July, 2020 at Kakiri Gardens & Hotel as I took oath of office after my election as President of the National Unity Platform,” Bobi Wine said.
“The oath was administered by the outgoing Secretary General, Mr. Paul Ssimbwa Kagombe in the presence of Mr. Moses Nkonge Kibalama, the outgoing President,” Bobi Wine continued.
“There is nothing that Gen. Museveni will not do to try to stop the people’s revolution,”
“He is just too scared and will stop at nothing in trying to block me from appearing on the ballot paper, but ultimately we the people shall prevail,” he added.
