Top NUP officials sting Mukula over Bobi Wine MDD diploma statement

National Unity Platform (NUP) secretary general David Lewis Rubongoya and spokesperson Joel Ssenyonyi have fired back at Capt Mike Mukula, the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) vice chairperson for eastern Uganda over his statements on presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine’s academic credentials.

On November 25, Mukula told NRM youths in Mbale that Bobi Wine’s diploma in music, dance and drama could only take him to the theater, not State House.

Bobi Wine is one of the 10 candidates seeking to wrestle power from long-serving president Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni of the NRM.

Hours after Mukula punched holes in Bobi Wine’s credentials to win power and run the highest office in the land, Rubongoya stung Mukula, reminding him of his involvement in a corruption scandal in the health sector.

If your good education did not stop you from embezzling funds meant for malaria and TB victims, you have no moral right to criticise a patriotic citizen who is trying to clean up the mess you have created. The fellows are shameless,” Rubongoya wrote.Like the NUP SG, Ssenyonyi also argued that Mukula lost credibility the day he was named in a health ministry scam. Appearing on NTV Uganda’s On the Spot, Ssenyonyi branded Mukula “a certified thief.”
