The row between NUP leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine and St Mary’s College Kisubi (SMACK) head teacher Brother Deodati Aliganyira over Solomon Sekayi Kyagulanyi aka Kampala, the singer-turned-politician’s son, is not about to come to an end.
Weeks ago, Bobi Wine’s son Solomon, aged 17, was in the news after it emerged that he had been suspended after he was found with marijuana. (Read Story Here).
During a parents meeting at the school, Bobi Wine accused Brother Aliganyira of going to the media to tarnish the image of his son.
“We had agreed that everything remains there without anything leaking out and that’s why I never said anything to the public even when I have plenty of access to the media as you all know,” Bobi Wine addressed Aliganyira, and bragged as some parents cheered him on.
He accused the head teacher of blocking Solomon, whose admission to SMACK was questionable given his average performance in comparison to the school’s cutoff points, of blocking his son from contesting for leadership position.
Bobi Wine was concerned that SMACK under Aliganyira had used an academic criterion to determine who should or shouldn’t be a prefect at the school.
“I was told by the same head teacher that my son wasn’t an ‘A’ but an average student who can’t be cleared to stand for a leadership position. I was hurt because we all train our children to become leaders,” said Bobi Wine.
“It was also said that popular students like him can’t be allowed to stand.”
