Uganda Police Force (UPF) says they did not kidnap National Unity Platform (NUP) president Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine’s Banfanfe Group coordinator Deus Tumuhimbise aka Deus Firebase.
Information circulating on social media has for weeks claimed Tumuhimbise had been missing.
That he had last been seen at the burial of Frank Senteza, Bobi Wine’s bodyguard.
Now Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesperson Luke Owoyesigyire has claimed Tumuhimbise had been arrested on January 07 “on allegations of issuing counterfeit notes of 5100 USD to East Africa Plastic Products Company Ltd located in Mbalala Industrial Park by Mbalala Police station.”
Owoyesigyire further revealed that Tumuhimbise had been sentenced to half a year after being convicted of possession of fake dollars, forgery and uttering counterfeit currency.
“The matter was investigated on Mukono CRB 067/2021 , and forwarded to prosecution for sanctioning. The suspect was later arraigned in Mukono Magistrate Court and [he was] convicted.”
