Bobi Wine challenges Museveni to take tough action against Rukutana for shooting Kabasharira agents

Presidential hopeful Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has condemned minister Mwesigwa Rukutana for shooting at supporters of Naomi Kabasharira in Rushenyi.

The junior labour minister was trailing behind Naomi Kabasharira in the race for National Resistance Movement (NRM) flag bearer in Ntungamo’s Rushenyi county.

Rukutana later grabbed a gun from his body guard and sprayed a car belonging to Dan Rweiburingi, an ally of Kabasharira.

Reacting on the shooting, Bobi Wine, the Kyadondo East MP, now wants Museveni to take stern action.

Bobi Wine said “the people’s struggle is about taming the gun” and “a minister should not shoot and intimidate his opponents.”

“Mr Rukutana should be arrested and forced to resign from office. Ugandans have a lot of work to restore sanity in our country,” wrote Bobi Wine.
