NUP leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine has criticized first son and commander land forces Lt Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba for supporting the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Lt Gen Kainerugaba recently said Russia was right to invade Ukraine. (Read Story Here).
But Bobi Wine is now castigating the first son for supporting Russia.
The NUP leader is taking the side of the western powers in the US and EU whose political, military economic contestations with Russia automatically justifies their support of Ukraine.
While Bobi Wine has looked up to the US and EU to support his political interests, Museveni and his son Lt Gen Kainerugaba seem to be seeking allies in other powers such as China and Russia.
As expected, Bobi Wine sought to ride on the first son’s comment on the Russian-Ukraine war to attack Museveni’s human rights record.
He also described Museveni’s government as being full of “brutal war mongers whose DNA is finding pleasure in human suffering, to suit their political gains.”
“Muhoozi must be happy seeing little children in the cold, trying to find refuge. Museveni and his son are definitely unhappy that Ukraine has a democratically elected government,” said Bobi Wine.
“Alongside Ugandans of good conscience, we join the world in solidarity with the people of Ukraine, more so, those who have lost loved ones, and the tens of thousands fleeing their country.”
He also saluted Ukraine’s president Volodymyr Zelensky, considered by some as a puppet of the west, and a pawn in the fight against Russia’s rise, as a hero.
