Two families fighting for the body of lawyer Bob Kasango have agreed to postpone burial arrangements after meetings to discuss his final resting place yielded no fruit.
Kasango’s clansmen wanted him buried in Tororo while his wife Nice Bitarabeho wanted her husband laid to rest at their home in Tooro.
The two families fought for the body of the fallen lawyer after a requiem mass at All Saints Church Nakasero in Kampala earlier in the week.
Police would later intercept a vehicle carrying the body to Tororo, and take the lawyer’s remains in its custody.
Family mediation meetings then started, with West Budama MP Fox Odoi and journalist Andrew Mwenda, chairing the discussions on behalf of Tororo and Tooro, respectively.
But as Mwenda has now announced, the families have failed to agree on where to bury the lawyer who succumbed to heart failure while in Luzira Prison at the weekend.
“This is to inform friends, relatives, in-laws and well wishers of the late Bob Kasango that his burial arrangements have been postponed indefinitely to allow his family and in-laws reach an amicable agreement on where to rest his remains,” announced Mwenda on March 05.
