Bizonto comedy members will present themselves before Special Investigations Unit (SIU) at Kireka for more interrogation over charges of spreading sectarianism and inciting the public.
On July 24, Police arrested Simon Peter Ssabakaki (Akozonto akato), Julius Ssewanja (Ssabazonto), Marceli Mbabali (Giant zonto) and Gold Kimatono (Jjaja zonto) and Saul Muro Kamya aka Baryanengwe from Radio Simba.
The five didn’t leave detention until July 28 when Buganda Road Court Grade one Magistrate Stella Amabirisi ordered their release after they spent over the mandatory 48 hours in custody.
Upon release, they told reporters at Radio Simba in Bukoto that police had quizzed them on the a video published on Youtube and edited for resharing on Facebook.
It is the reedited videos they claim caused them problems.
“What we do is not illegal. We have uploaded over 100 videos on our Youtube channel but we have never been arrested. We will continue to do what we do,” Bizonto said.
They also complained that police had confiscated their uniform and equipment as exhibits.
Also released alongside the Bizonto was singer Gerald Kiwewa arrested earlier over the Nantaba-Zaake song.

Kiwewa told reporters that officers in a van had picked him from Kawempe. Prior to his arrest, Kiwewa continued, he had received a phone call from someone who had purported to have an offer for the recording of a political song.
“They drove me to my home and searched my house. They jotted down some notes, and took some CDs and a flash disk,” Kiwewa said.
“The song is about my niece who is named Nantaba. The things she did led me to write the song. I never sang about [Kayunga Woman MP Idah] Nantaba and [Mityana Municipality MP Francis] Zaake.”
Kiwewa vowed to resume performance of the song after court has pronounced itself on the matter.
