Veteran opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye has labelled Ugandans ‘very foolish and stupid’ people who will a huge price for keeping his former bush war comrade President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni in power.
Besigye, who challenged Museveni in four disputed elections, wondered how Ugandans could keep voting a man whom he blamed for the current Covid19 crisis.
Besigye added that Ugandans were now on their own and could only survive by following prevention measures since, as he claimed, the Museveni government had failed.
Reiterating that all Ugandans would soon or later contract Covid19, the doctor defended his herbal immunity boosting concoction.
“Wash hands, sanitize and put on a mask. Don’t meet people. Stay away from them. That is how you can survive wide scale community transmission. Make sure you meet people if you must,” he advised.
“What you call the concoction are natural ingredients that build the capacity of your body to fight. That concoction is something well-considered and has been researched. I am telling you what I am because I can defend it.”
Besigye further wondered how foolish some people could be not to realize health was a matter of politics.
“As I was coming here, people were saying ‘Talk about Covid19, not politics.’ That’s the utmost foolishness we talk about. There’s nothing more political than health because health is a common good,” he fumed.
“We must realize that as people, we are foolish and we must deal with our stupidity.”
Besigye further blasted Ugandans for failing to think.
“That is why we have a regime like we have doing the things it’s doing for 35 years and we are simply lamenting,” he shot.
