Besigye Pens Letter to Bobi Wine

Opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye has revealed that he has written to leaders of opposition parties regarding the liberation of Uganda from her current crisis.

As he launched the national coordination and mobilization team to mobilize Ugandans for civil resistance against President Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni’s regime, Besigye, the leader of People’s Front for Transition (PFT), revealed that he has already written to party leaders in the opposition regarding his efforts to remove Museveni from power.

On January 26, Besigye told reporters that PFT would stick to fundamental issues such as health and education crises, human rights violations and security, and will ensure that the population understands these issues and how to permanently resolve them.

Besigye also made it clear that he and his colleagues in the struggle will start speaking less and acting more.

“We shall not speak much this time round. We want our actions to speak louder than words if we have to liberate Uganda from captivity,” he said, adding that most Ugandans were currently in a pathetic situation and urgently needed liberation.

He also revealed that PFT was wooing opposition parties such as National Unity Platform (NUP) of Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, and Alliance for National Transformation (ANT) of former army commander Maj Gen (Rtd) Gregg Mugisha Muntu.

Besigye emphasized the need for unity in the struggle against Museveni.

“We need to work together [in taking action against the regime],” said Besigye.

“For that reason, we have actually written formally to our colleagues in the leadership of National Unity Platform to update them on what is going on.”

Besigye also revealed that PFT had requested to meet NUP leaders “to discuss how we can act together in the joint action.”

Bobi Wine’s NUP has been reluctant to join Besigye’s PFT, prompting a reaction from FDC. (Read story here).

But Bobi Wine has rebuked NUP supporters and leaders attacking Besigye and PFT. (Read story here).
