Commenting on the news of the death of Oulanyah, Besigye quoted Romans 18:18.
“I send sincere and heartfelt condolences to the family of Hon Jacob Oulanyah. Please know that we shall keep you in our thoughts and prayers,” wrote Besigye.
“For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.’ Romans 8:18.”
Unlike in most condolence messages, Besigye did not talk about the character of Speaker Oulanyah.
A former UPC cadre, Oulanyah was a member of NRM party. For two decades now Besigye has been Museveni’s fiercest opponent.
