Controversial TV personality Basajja Mivule has denied ever joining Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine’s National Unity Platform (NUP).
Recently, various news reports quoted Mivule as crossing from NUP to the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).
But Mivule told NBS on September 01 he had never been a member of NUP.
He swore he had only gone to meet his friend in Kamwokya, near the offices of the political party.
It was his friend who requested him to give him company to National Unity Platform (NUP) headquarters, he further claimed.
While at NUP offices, he continued, he was shocked to learn that there was a plan to officially welcome him as a member of NUP.
Attempts to alert his friend to block ushers from announcing his presence were futile, he further claimed.
With Nubian Lee reading his name and inviting him to step forward, Mivule said he had no option but to walk to the front and let the NUP party welcome him.
“I have made a decision of joining President Museveni at this time, I will work with him. I want to show him where he has gone wrong; he will give me money, and I will help him,” he reiterated his earlier position.
“My target is to help Ugandans overcome poverty. I know how to do it and I am ready.”
