Col Shaban Bantariza, the deputy government spokesperson, was laid to rest in Kagorogoro, Nyakatsiro in Mitooma District on October 29.
The deputy executive of the Uganda Media Centre until his death, Col Bantariza succumbed to Covid19 at the Mulago National Referral Hospital early October 27.
He had for days been in hospital for treatment of symptoms related to Covid19 and hypertension.
His burial was attended by a limited number of people, most of them relatives.
Health officials ensured observance of Covid19 guidelines to avoid spread of the viral respiratory disease.
Bantariza was accorded a 24-gun salute.
