Bad Black ‘returns’ to People Power, eyeing Kampala Woman MP seat by 40

Socialite Shanitah Namuyimbwa aka Bad Black has rejoined Bobi Wine’s People Power group and plans to be Kampala Woman MP by the time she turns 40.

Bad Black was recently in the news over a TV message she featured in.

She had threatened to sue the Ministry of Health (MoH) for Shs500m for a message in which rallied fellow prostitutes to shun truck drivers.

Black even got support from controversial academic Dr Stella Nyanzi who vowed to storm government offices until Black got her money.

At the time, there were concerns sex workers would contract Covid19 from truck drivers and spread it in communities.

But MoH said Bad Black had volunteered and had not signed any contract with it.

It was events promoter Balaam Barugahara who saved the situation.

Barugahara gave Bad Black an undisclosed amount of money after she threatened to reveal names of top government officials who buy sex workers.

Black’s rival Alicia Boss Chic claimed Barugahara had not paid Black more than Shs5m.

The ex-prisoner says she signed a non-disclosure agreement and will not reveal the figure she got.

Barugahara is a known supporter of President Yoweri Museveni and his ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM).

Many thought he had won Black over to Museveni and NRM.

But days later, Black donned a red People Power attire and declared she was back to Bobi Wine’s fold.

Barugahara had promised to ensure Bad Black meets Museveni so he could help prostitutes acquire skills and start projects.

The socialite says she will only attend the meeting (if it ever happens) only to tell Museveni, in power since 1986, to prepare to hand over to Bobi Wine.

And as she returned to People Power, Bad Black swore she was no longer naive.

She said she had seen it all and had nothing to fear in politics and any other sphere of life.

She denied meeting Bobi Wine before she announced rejoining People Power.

But she said the pressure group would be lucky to use her influence. She also plans to join Bobi’s security team.

It is through working with People Power that she hopes to receive her mentorship for a parliamentary seat.

Black vowed to return to school and acquire the requisite academic qualifications. She is a senior two dropout.

She hopes to have joined Parliament as Kampala Woman MP by the time she turns 40. She claims she is now aged 31.
