Barbara Itungo Kyagulanyi aka Barbie, wife to National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine, says Ghetto Media cameraman Ashraf Kasirye is in intensive care unit (ICU) at Rubaga Hospital in Kampala following surgery on his head.
Kasirye was transferred from Masaka Regional Referral Hospital to Rubaga Hospital on December 27 after a teargas canister hit his head, according to police spokesperson Fred Enanga.
Now, Barbie says Kasirye’s condition remains critical.
According to Bobi Wine’s wife, surgeons at Rubaga Hospital operated on Kasirye’s head, removing broken skull bones.
“For five hours last evening, Ashraf Kasirye underwent surgery on his head. We will wait for a detailed report from the doctors on what they actually managed to do to save his life,” revealed Barbie.
“What I know in simple terms is that he had some bones of his skull removed because those particular bones were shattered. Ashraf is in ICU right now undergoing treatment. Let us all pray for his quick healing.”
