An explosive, believed to be a bomb, has reportedly left two children dead in Ssegalye village, Semuto sub-county, Nakaseke district.
The October 29 incident happened when the bomb, that reportedly looked like a jackfruit, exploded as children played with it.
The deceased have been identified as Pathias Kiwuuwa and Michael Kiyingi.
The scene was later cordoned off awaiting the Counter Terrorism’s Bomb Squad officers.
“Please report suspicious articles. A jackfruit-like explosive given to children in Ssegalye village, Semuto sub-county, Nakaseke district, instantly kills Kiwuuwa Pathias, a physically handicapped child and Kiyingi Michael, 14, who were playing together with another child Odong,” tweeted police’s chief political commissar Asan Kasingye.
The bomb explosion follows two others: one in Komamboga, Kampala; and another on an Ishaka-bound Swift Safaris bus.
