ANITA AMONG UK PROPERTIES: Fearless Activist Vows to Expose Speaker’s Assets – and Says They’re More Than a Pussycat

A day after Speaker Anita Among claimed she has no properties that the UK can freeze following sanctions,  a fearless activist who has been vocal in exposing alleged corruption in Uganda’s Parliament says she will soon expose Anita Among UK properties.

On April 30, The Pearl Times reported about sanctions against Speaker Anita Among, and sacked ministers Mary Goretti Kitutu and Agness Nandutu. (See Details Here).

The sanctions against the trio will see their assets or properties in the UK – if any – frozen. They will also suffer travel bans.

“An asset freeze prevents any UK citizen, or any business in the UK, from dealing with any funds or economic resources which are owned, held or controlled by the designated person and which are held in the UK. It will also prevent funds or economic resources being provided to or for the benefit of the designated person or entity,” explained UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office as Deputy Foreign Secretary Andrew Mitchell announced sanctions.

“A travel ban means that the designated person is an excluded person under section 8B of the Immigration Act 1971, and must be refused leave to enter or to remain in the United Kingdom (any leave given to a person who is an excluded person is invalid).”

SPEAKER ANITA AMONG: NOT EVEN A PUSSYCAT

In response, Speaker Anita Among, who is also the Bukedea District Woman MP, told her colleague legislators that the sanctions are politically motivated and related to the passing of the Anti-Homosexuality Act.

Speaker Among has also told MPs that she expects President Yoweri Museveni to offer a response to the UK government regarding the sanctions because they constitute “an indictment on Parliament of Uganda.”

She also added that she would not lose her peace over the UK sanctions. On threats of asset freeze she insisted she did not have any properties in the UK – not even a pussycat, she added.

“I am not worried [about UK sanctions]. If they feel I have property in the UK, let them go and freeze them and see if I will complain,” she said.

AGATHER ATUHAIRE: I HAVE EVIDENCE OF SPEAKER ANITA AMONG UK PROPERTIES

But social media activist Agather Atuhaire has revealed that she has evidence of Speaker Anita Among properties in the UK.

“The speaker lied when she said she doesn’t have even a pussycat in the UK. She knows she has property there. I will soon share the evidence with the video where she said she has nothing,” Atuhaire told Capital Gang.

Atuhaire has been a key activist that exposed the purchase of parliament’s speakers’ ceremonial cars. Her work has put her in trouble. (See Details Here).
