Amuriat: Museveni is the greatest liar South of Sahara

Patrick Oboi Amuriat (POA), the 2021 presidential candidate for main opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party, has described Uganda’s long-serving president Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni as the greatest liar South of Sahara.

Amuriat, who is making his making his first attempt at the country’s top seat, says Museveni has for the past three decades fed Ugandans on lies and promises of prosperity.

A protégé of veteran opposition leader Dr Kizza Besigye, Museveni’s fiercest critic for almost two decades, Amuriat told the people of Naguru in Nakawa Division of Kampala City on December 16 not to accept Museveni’s ‘lies’ again.

Amuriat listed some of the programs Museveni’s National Resistance Movement (NRM) had put in place to drive Ugandans out of poverty in vain.

Some of them are Entandikwa, Boona bagagawale (prosperity for all), and Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) coordinated by his brother Gen Caleb Akandwanaho aka Salim Saleh.

He told them all these programs had failed, prompting Museveni to come up with ‘Emyooga’ initiative, which he (Amuriat) believed was a campaign trap and would also amount to naught.

“Mr Museveni has for the last 35 years fed you on lies,” Amuriat told his supporters in Naguru before police disrupted the meeting.

“He will soon come here with more false hope. But don’t fall for it because Mr Museveni is the greatest liar South of Sahara.”
