ALIVE OR DEAD? Museveni Minister Opens Up on Blogger Lumbuye’s Health Condition, Government Next Plan

Junior foreign affairs minister in charge of international relations Henry Okello Oryem has spoken out on reports on National Unity Platform (NUP) blogger Fred Kajubi Lumbuye’s condition and what government plans to do next.

Last week, NUP lawyers sought orders to produce Lumbuye in court – dead or alive.

A team NUP leader Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine had sent to Turkey has failed to trace the party’s propagandist.

For two weeks now, questions on Lumbuye’s whereabouts remain a mystery.

Now, Minister Oryem has told Morning At NTV that Lumbuye is not dead.

He urged Ugandans that Lumbuye was in safe hands and would appear in court at the right time.

Oryem further asked Ugandans to stop worrying and mind their business.

“He is alive. People shouldn’t be worried about him. The relevant authorities will at the right time bring him before courts of law,” said the minister.

“People should be busy looking for survival, not asking about Lumbuye.”

The minister emphasised that Lumbuye’s issue should be such a big matter.

“People should go around trying to look for their survival, they should work hard to look after their families and increase their house hold income,” he noted.

“In Uganda, there are many things that are more important than Lumbuye.”
