The popular Kabagarame Pork Joint in Bushenyi-Ishaka Municipality was burnt to ashes in an August 01 evening fire. The source of the fire was not yet established but flames were seen eating into the structures at Western Uganda’s famous eatery that pork lovers frequent to enjoy their favorite meat.

In January 2018, fire razed the grass-thatched structures at the Kabagarame Pork Market causing losses, which the local police estimated at about Shs50m then. In 2018, eye witnesses told local media the fire could have emanated from a fireplace that children grazing in the nearby bush had ignited.

In this particular incident from 2018, Uganda Police Force (UPF) Fire Brigade had taken about three hours to arrive at the scene.

Another fire incident was reported in 2020. It happening days to the reopening of the pork joint which had been burnt earlier.
