Police officers have arrested comedy quartet Bizonto members from Radio Simba in Kampala where they work as presenters of a morning show.
The four are Mercel Mbabali, Simon Peter Ssabakaki, Julius Sserwanja and Gold Kimatono.
Their arrest is linked to a July 2020 comedy skit authorities say was meant to promote sectarianism.
Mbabali, Ssebakaki, Sserwanja and Kimatono are expected in court.
“They are on their way to Buganda Road court. They had a sanctioned file for allegations of promoting sectarianism,” said CID spokesperson Charles Mansio Twine.
