AGAIN! After Failing to Kill His Boss, Ugandan Police Officer Shoots Himself Dead

A Ugandan Police officer has shot himself dead after attempting to kill his boss, the officer in charge of his police post in Kassanda District.

Wamala Regional Police Spokesperson Rachael Kawala has confirmed that the territorial police in Kassanda have registered attempted murder and suicide by shooting that occurred at Makokoto Police Post Makokoto Sub County in Kassanda District.

The deceased has been identified as No.1037 PC Alex Kitiyo, a 47-year old resident of Makokoto Trading Center, and a police officer attached to Makokota Police Post in Kassanda District.

Preliminary facts indicate that on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at about 5am, while at Makokota Trading Centre Police Constable Kitiyo woke up and  shot several bullets into the room of his in charge police post, Inspector of Police John Kakooza, while not saying anything.

He would then return to his room, sit on his bed and shoot himself dead.

Scene of crime has been visited and documented by the Wamala Police regional task team and Relevant statements are being recorded to guide on investigation.

This incident followed another incident in Mbarara where a police officer shot dead a UPDF soldier. That shoot happened after another one in which an angry police officer killed an Indian money lender. (See Details Here and There).
